this is the cover that i usually use on my car to at least try to protect it from the elements. it lasts me about one year. it really takes a punishment too. for the price it is good enough for me.

Budge D-3 Duro 16'8" Car Cover

for the price, this car cover is great. I bought it for a 2010 Dodge Charger that is not being driven at the time and it fits almost perfectly over the car - better with the rear view mirrors folded in. The cover was blowing off the front and there is no way I could find to tie the front down with rope/string. The only holes/hooks in the cover are on the sides and the back. I backed the car in and tied it down with the available holes/hooks and so far so good.

I shipped to wrong address and customer service was excellent in getting product back and reshipping to correct address. Product fit perfect kept my car dry for the entire 3 days of rain we just had. Classic Accessories 10-012-251001-00 OverDrive Polypro 1 Biodiesel Mid Size Sedan Car Cover for Sedans

Today is July 11, 2012 and I received the cover yesterday. I was impressed with the way they vacuum packed the cover. Naturally, this is a cheaply made cover, thus you pay a cheap price. What the hell do you expect? Anyway if I get two years out of it I'll be happy. Bottom line, I just purchased a second one today! Hopefully, in two years or more if I'm lucky, I'll use it. I bought this for my TSX. the elastic ends (front and back) secure the cover onto the car quite well. I'm not sure how it'll hold when the wind picks up, but at the time being it's secure enough.
the material is rather thin. it's not rubber or vinyl. it feels like a combination of cloth and paper (like a thick paper towel). I'm sure it's not waterproof.
i use this against the morning dew, dust and sunlight. this cover serves that purpose quite well.
I'll buy a second as long as it lasts a couple of years.
